December Deliberations:

As the year wraps up, it’s an excellent time to reflect on sustainability, and the myriad of topics surrounding it. From eco couture in winter, to the December discussions provide a perfect opportunity to embrace a lifestyle that respects our planet while remaining posh.

Thrift coat jackets: (always check the pockets) Wash them on light, with soap, air hang or tumble to dry.

Fleece leggings, and tights: (hear me out ok?) can be up-cycled as under shirts for layers. It doesn't have to be perfect it just needs to go under your cute band tee or dress.

Keep an eye out for sweaters, especially cashmere, or anything soft but durable like wool. When you wash sweaters from the thrift always do so on gentle, cold wash, and hang to dry. Sometimes you can get away with tumble drying to smooth it out but it's important to treat these sweaters with care! I read where one and five Christmas sweaters are ever even worn once! that means were putting 4x Christmas sweaters in the trash than necessary. There's nothing Merry about that.

Exploring Eco Couture: Fashion with a Conscience

Eco couture isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a movement that's gaining momentum in the fashion industry. It's worthwhile to examine how to source materials, utilize innovative techniques, and focus on waste reduction. This month, my brand introduces a new western collection that is not only cozy but also eco-friendly, allowing us to celebrate the season in style while supporting ethical practices.

Desert Living and Me: A Match Made in Heaven

Imagine a wardrobe filled with versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched effortlessly, allowing for creativity without excess. In regions like the desert, light fabrics and eco-friendly materials are essential in the summer months. They provide comfort in the heat while aligning with sustainable fashion principles. During the winter, here in the high desert, we are reliant on layers as temperatures vary during storms, wind, and rain.

Mostly, living in the desert encourages us to be mindful about our consumption. It serves as a reminder that quality over quantity, emphasizing the importance of investing in pieces that last and elevating our style without harming the environment.

December is the time for Spring Cleaning

Nobody wants to hear this but as December unfolds, let's engage in conversations that foster change in our lifestyles. Whether visiting eco markets, attending local sustainable fashion events, or simply discussing the merits of mindful consumption with friends, every action counts. During this time we do not have to participate in the constant flow of consumerism. If you do, shop small, and buy what you need. I like to think that this season is about pouring into ourselves too. Remember, sustainable fashion puts the planet first, and together, we can support a culture that embraces eco-friendliness.

So, gather your friends this winter season and dive into the exciting world of eco couture, share tips on sustainable living, and discuss how we can all do our part in preserving the beauty of our planet while enjoying the festivities of December!
